PRESS RELEASE–Free, Rapid COVID-19 At-home Test Kit Distribution Event

Metro Community Health Center is distributing free, rapid COVID-19 at-home test kits during a drive-thru event on Friday, January 21st from 10am-2pm in the parking lot on the 700 block of Wallace Ave. in Wilkinsburg, PA, while supplies last.

January 19, 2022 – Wilkinsburg, PA – As new cases of COVID-19 continue to soar in the greater Pittsburgh region, testing is more important than ever. Due to the overwhelming number of people wanting tests, the time it is taking to receive lab results is increasing and resulting in further spread of the virus. Additionally, as demand for tests increases, businesses have been unable to keep at-home, rapid tests in stock. To address this problem and to give people quicker access to their infection status, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has provided Metro Community Health Center with free, rapid COVID-19 at-home test kits to distribute to the community.

Metro Community Health Center will host a drive-thru COVID-19 rapid, at-home test distribution event on Friday, January 21^st from 10am-2pm in the parking lot on the 700 block of Wallace Ave. in Wilkinsburg, PA. This event is open to everyone and is free to all who participate. Walk-ups will also be accepted. Tests will be distributed until supplies run out, so arrive as early as you can and expect to wait in line in your vehicle.
